Humans, they have the ability to think, imagine, dream, and plan their life. We all wonder what WE are going to be when we grow up, what WE are going to do. We all want to do something important in life. So it is amazing to me how different God thinks compared to us. We say I want to be this or that, He says, “ask me what I want you to do.” And Jesus layed down His life for us, He has a right to us.(1Corinthians 6:19-20)
Isaiah55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”God plainly says I do not think the way man thinks. I do not do things the way man does them. And He goes on to say that my thoughts and ways are higher than mans. I can tell you this, (and I know this to be true in my personal life) what God has planned for us and see’s in us is higher, greater, and better than anything we could every think about ourselves! In Jeremiah 29:11 God says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Everyone wants to have a secure future in their life. Everyone needs to have hope in their lives. And there is only one who can truly satisfy and meet this need in our lives, our Heavenly Father. Did you know God has a plan for you? Did you know God is mindful of you? God cares for us so much that He thinks about us constantly. And He has a plan for our lives if we will choose to follow Him.
So how do we get God’s thinking into our thinking? Well first we need to get into His Word and see what He says about us there. His Word is His will and His plan. So we have to get into the book. We also have to acknowlege God and look to Him for His plan. I love a scripture in Proverbs which give us 4 steps to success. Proverbs 3:5 “1. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, 2. And LEAN NOT on your own understanding; 3. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, and 4. And He shall DIRECT your paths.” He promises to guide us if we will give Him complete control. And finally we have to be willing. God wants His people to be willing and obedient to Him and yes “change” if need be. (Isaiah 1:19) We have to surrender to the plan of Heaven and give Him complete control in our lives. So I encourage all of us today to remember to acknowledge the Lord in our lives – everyday of our lives. He won’t take anything away from us either. He can enhance our lives, He can make them better!
